Pașcalău Claudiu-Raul, currently a Visual Arts PhD student, approaches fashion design as a medium for examining the inseparable relationship between the natural and the digital in contemporary culture.
His practice explores the psychological and social concepts that shape modern life, using clothing as a space where these tensions, transitions, and hybrid identities can be visually materialized.
Pașcalău Claudiu-Raul,

Hustle Culture perpetuates the belief that once financial comfort is secured, stability in all other areas of life will naturally follow—a mentality reinforced by social media and embedded in modern society’s subconscious. While it can motivate individuals to pursue professional goals and external validation, this movement carries significant emotional and psychological risks, reducing self-worth to productivity. The genderless design project MANMADE CLAWS metaphorically aligns Hustle Culture with carnivorous plants to illustrate the harmful effects of constant work. Merging natural and digital elements, the project features aggressive organic cut lines shaping oversized silhouettes and a palette dominated by black and gray, contrasted with accents of blue and fluorescent magenta, lime, and green. Technical textures generate matte/glossy and smooth/textured contrasts, forming organic volumes through pattern cuts, gathering, excessive padding, vegetal motifs, micro-pleats, and layered unfinished surfaces.
