This traditional Bouyei ethnic women’s ceremonial attire is a vivid embodiment of ethnic culture and handcraftsmanship. Dominated by indigo blue and deep black tones, the garment is made from homespun and naturally dyed fabric, integrating multiple traditional techniques such as counted-thread embroidery, cross-stitch (tiaohua), batik, and brocade weaving.

Brightly colored embroidered patterns accent the collar, cuffs, and hem, where geometric and botanical motifs subtly convey an aesthetic of harmonious coexistence with nature. The wrap-front, wide-sleeved upper garment features woven brocade and picked embroidery on the shoulders and sleeves, while the embroidered apron displays exquisite craftsmanship. The long skirt is elegantly batik-dyed, combining practicality with cultural symbolism, alluding to landscapes such as the Nanpan and Beipan Rivers and an idealized vision of an agrarian homeland.

From cotton cultivation and hand-spinning to dyeing and embroidery, more than ten intricate processes are completed entirely by Bouyei women. This attire is not only worn during festivals and important occasions, but also serves as a vessel of collective memory and cultural identity. Today, it stands as a significant representative of China’s national intangible cultural heritage.

這套布依族傳統女式盛裝，是民族文化與手工技藝的縮影。它以靛藍、墨黑為底色，衣身採用自種自染的土布，融合數紗繡、挑花、蠟染、織錦等多道手工技藝；領口、袖口、裙擺以亮色繡紋點綴，幾何與植物紋樣暗含“自然共生”的審美。斜襟寬袖的上衣肩袖飾有織錦挑花，圍腰繡紋精巧，整條裙子蠟染雅致，既實用又藏著“南北盤江”“田園家園”的文化隱喻。從種棉紡線到染布繡紋，十餘道工序全由布依族婦女手工完成，它既是節慶盛裝，更承載著族群記憶，如今已是國家級非遺的重要代表。
