Liu Jindan, from Sichuan, China, is a graduate of the Shanghai Industrial Art Vocational College. Since childhood, she has been fascinated by the warmth of handcrafted works and the possibilities of materials. She focuses on combining eco-friendly materials with various techniques to give new life to discarded objects, practicing sustainable aesthetics through her creations.

Shadowlight Blue Butterfly | Cyanotype-Dyed Fabric × Vegetable-Tanned Leather Butterfly × Natural Labradorite
The main body of this work is crafted from natural ramie fabric, dyed using the cyanotype process. The three-dimensional butterfly ornament on the flap is carved from vegetable-tanned leather. The labradorite clasp, with its distinctive blue-green schiller, shifts mysteriously in different lights, subtly echoing the depth of the cyanotype and the warmth of the leather.The entire piece embodies a zero-waste philosophy: the vegetable-tanned leather is processed with plant-based tannins and can naturally return to the earth; the cyanotype uses only sunlight and water as mediums, producing no chemical pollution; and the labradorite is a natural mineral, untreated and undyed. The butterfly theme metaphorically speaks to the cycle of life and regeneration, calling for a renewed reflection in this age of consumption on the eternal dialogue between objects and nature.

藍曬染布 × 植鞣皮革蝴蝶 × 天然拉長石
作品主體選用天然苧麻布，以藍曬（Cyanotype）工藝染製而成。翻蓋上的立體蝴蝶裝飾以植鞣皮革精雕而成；扣件選用天然拉長石（Labradorite），其獨特的藍綠色暈彩在不同光線下神秘流轉，與藍曬的深邃層次及皮革的溫潤質感相互呼應。
整件作品貫徹零廢棄（Zero Waste）理念：
｜植鞣皮革以植物性單寧處理，可自然回歸大地；
｜藍曬工藝僅以陽光與清水為媒介，不產生化學污染；
｜拉長石為天然礦石，未經染色與人工處理。
以蝴蝶為主題，作品隱喻生命的循環與再生，並在消費時代中，喚起我們重新思考物件與自然之間那場恆久不息的對話。
