/Artist

Natalia Gradzka was born in Warsaw, Poland. She studied sculpture at the prestigious University of Fine Arts in Warsaw under Professor Piotr Gawron. In addition, Natalia's love of the theatre and performing arts led her to study make-up artistry and costume design.

It inspired her to make the traditional craft of sewing mastery into Haute Couture art admiring the finesse of feminine beauty. She also got her art knowledge studying at Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome, Italy. There she created her individual design style.

Natalia works with a wide array of materials such as cloth, clay, plasticine, gypsum, wax, paper, paper-mäché, silver, brass and bronze.

Perspectives on Tradition and Future, Sustainability and Fashion, and Life.

Growing up in a big city In Poland in the 1990s, 1 often visited second-hand stores.

In those times, there was very easy access to commercial clothing stores, but my mother was still looking for original and unusual styles, which she later modified.

When I was a child, buying used clothes was a kind of shame, but nowadays many young people focus on individuality and vintage garment, whose prices are much higher than the prices of brand new clothes bought in shopping malls. I think there is less interest in seemingly nice and fashionable clothes that are produced at a low cost for mass consumers. At some point, we reached a kind of uniformity from which more and more people are moving away in search of their individuality in image at the same time also protecting the natural environment. In my opinion, the context of the exhibition is very current and touches on the latest trends.
