Francis Dravigny is the founder of Cebu-based weave studio Interlace. The production focus at Interlace is mainly on textiles for interior spaces using natural fibres abundantly present in the Philippines such as abacá (from banana leaves and stalks), romblon, and buri (manifested as buntal and raffia); to name a few. For his overseas clientele, Dravigny provides an open platform where one is able to materialise any concept or story unto fabric overcoming inherent material constraints to produce visual and tactile beauty in volumes, which also reflects the diverse array of resources available in our country. Though beyond his business and responsibilities in Interlace, his personal art project at 856G is the marriage of his eclectic mix of interests and proficiency in fibres; fondness for nature; and spontaneity in exploration. 

Francis Dravigny 是位於宿霧的編織工作室Interlace的創始人。Interlace 的生產重點主要集中在利用菲律賓豐富的天然纖維,如香蕉葉和莖製成的abacá、羅穆倫和布里(表現為buntal和raffia)等,為室內空間提供紡織品。對於他的海外客戶,Dravigny 提供了一個開放的平台,在這裡,人們可以將任何概念或故事化為布料,克服固有的材料限制,生產視覺和觸覺美感,同時反映出我們國家豐富多樣的資源。除了在Interlace的業務和責任之外,他在856G的個人藝術項目則是他多元化的興趣和纖維技能,對大自然的喜愛以及探索的自發性的結合。

As a textile designer working in the Philippines and France, I believe in the harmony of sustainability and tradition. Filipino weaving techniques, rich in history, should be preserved using eco-friendly practices. In France, the blend of innovation and artisanal skills emphasizes quality and sustainability. By using organic materials and efficient production, we can honor cultural heritage while protecting our planet. Sustainable design is not just a trend but a responsibility to future generations and the environment. 

作為一名在菲律賓和法國工作的紡織設計師,我相信永續和傳統的和諧。菲律賓的編織技術擁有悠久的歷史,應該使用環保的方法來保存。在法國,創新和工匠技能的融合強調品質和可持續性。通過使用有機材料和高效生產,我們可以尊重文化遺產,同時保護我們的地球。永續設計不僅是一種趨勢,更是對未來世代和環境的責任。
