I am Yuchen Li, a graduating student majoring in Fashion Design at the University of Leeds. As a fashion designer, I draw inspiration from the minutiae of daily life, and I excel in utilizing unconventional materials for fabric transformation and clothing production. Additionally, I am passionate about repairing and repurposing second-hand clothing.

The Concept and Description of the Work
關於參展作品的創作動機與設計理念

This project involves the innovative transformation of old plastic traffic cone covers (referred to as cone covers) found within the community into environmentally friendly materials. Over the years, these old cone covers have become fragile, faded, and damaged due to weathering, resulting in a decrease in their reflective warning properties. Additionally, the broken and peeling plastic outer walls contribute to environmental pollution. By utilizing eco-friendly mesh for stabilization and high-temperature reshaping, the cone covers regain their toughness and strength. Moreover, they are molded into shapes that conform to the human body contours, providing a new fashionable solution for the recycling and reuse of cone covers.

這個項目涉及將社區內發現的舊塑料交通錐套(稱為錐套)轉化為環保材料的創新。多年來,這些舊的錐套因風化而變得脆弱、褪色和受損,導致其反射警示性能下降。此外,破損和剝落的塑料外壁還會導致環境污染。通過利用環保網格進行穩定化和高溫塑形,錐套重新獲得了堅韌性和強度。此外,它們被塑造成符合人體輪廓的形狀,為錐套的回收和重用提供了一種新的時尚解決方案。
